Supported Regions
This document explains which regions can register and pay for Compass, where our edge nodes are located, and which regions are restricted or unsupported.
We provide service globally, but availability is not uniform, as it is subject to export controls, economic sanctions, and the regional policies of upstream providers themselves. Your registration and billing region is determined by your account profile and the region of your payment method, not by the source IP of your requests.
1. Regions Where Registration and Billing Are Available
2. Edge Node Coverage
Nodes affect only the ingress and forwarding path of requests; they do not change model availability or pricing. You can pin a node in the console; by default, requests are routed to the nearest node by latency.
3. Restricted and Unsupported Regions
- Service is not provided in comprehensively sanctioned countries and regions, including North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.
- Individuals and entities on applicable export control lists (such as the SDN List and the Entity List), including affiliates under their control, may not register or use the service.
- Russia and Belarus are not currently accepting new registrations or payments; treatment of existing accounts is subject to the latest announcements.
- Some countries have technical access only, without local payment method support; top-ups must be made by USD card or corporate wire transfer.
4. Regional Differences Among Upstream Providers
Even if Compass is available in your region, individual models may still be unavailable due to provider policies. The model detail page in the console indicates unavailable regions; requests rejected upstream on regional grounds return a 403 with the reason.
5. Your Compliance Responsibilities
- You warrant that you are not a sanctioned party and that you do not use the service on behalf of a sanctioned party.
- Do not re-provide the service to users in restricted regions, or help them circumvent restrictions via proxies or forwarding.
- If your registration region changes (for example, a corporate relocation or a change in tax status), update your account profile promptly; this may affect invoicing and tax treatment.
- Export control and sanctions lists change over time; the official lists in force at the relevant time are authoritative.
